The Survey Editor is where the bulk of programming a survey will take place. As the survey is constructed, the icons on the left-hand side of the Survey Editor screen, along the top, and to the right of constructed questions serve as guides for additional programming. Each of these functions can be understood by mousing over them to see explanations.

1.4: Create Question Tables
in order to create a table you must first create at least one question where it's answer options will become the answer options of the table. Next click this button and select the first question to use. The default will always be the Active question. Now using the Table creation wizard you can either have it create rows automatically based on copy and pasted text, or you can create each row based on an already created question. You will also need to specify the last question in which you want to include the answer options from. The default will always be the Active question.
2: Additional Survey Functions
2.1: Test Run

There are three types of Quotas: Total Quotas, which are used to set the total number of completes for the survey; Advanced Quotas, which allow you to set up complex logic to terminate respondents; and Simple Quotas, which allow you to set a quota value for any individual option choice in a radio, pulldown, or checkbox question. Any quota that is set to zero will profile terminate a respondent. Any quota that is set to 1 or higher will quota terminate a respondent.
2.3: Publish Survey
will publish your survey, allowing respondents to access the survey via any of the selected methods under Survey Properties.
2.4: Random Sequencer
Allows you to create random sequences for question choices, groups of questions, and/or rotational groups to follow.
2.5: File Manager
Allows you to view, delete, and upload files to be used in the survey.
2.6: Edit Survey Properties

2.10.1: Question Templates
is used to add or manage templated questions on the installation. To make a template out of a question you have already created, click the green arrow next to that question, click the "Extra" tab and then select "Template Question".
3: Individual Question Functions
3.1: Edit Group
is used to edit a group's properties (e.g., a group condition or randomization within the group).
3.2: Edit HTML Range
is used to edit a custom HTML range, which is a customized method of displaying questions to respondents.
is used to inform you of any errors or additional question information.
3.4: Preview Question
is used to preview the question.
3.5: Edit Surrounding HTML
this is used to edit the HTML around the Question Text shown with ~QTEXT~ and the Question Choices shown with ~QUESTION~. To customize your question or add formatting, you can easily insert HTML elements such as bolding, horizontal lines and bullet points using the WYSIWYG user interface:
this icon shows up when any simple (choice) quotas exist for the question.
this is used to show any branching conditions for the question.

is used to define a condition on the question based on conditional logic. When a conditional statement evaluates to "true" a question is displayed. Whenever a condition evaluates to "false" a question is hidden. %APPLICATION% highly recommends using conditions instead of branching due to their highly efficient nature during respondent survey navigation.
